The Challenge

FreshMart, a growing grocery chain in Johannesburg, faced significant challenges in competing with established online retailers. Their existing website was not mobile-optimized, resulting in a 73% cart abandonment rate on mobile devices. Customers complained about the cumbersome checkout process, lack of real-time stock updates, and inability to track deliveries. Our Solution

We developed a comprehensive cross-platform mobile application using React Native, ensuring consistent performance on both iOS and Android devices. The app featured an intuitive interface with smart search functionality powered by AI, allowing users to find products through text, voice, or image recognition. We implemented a sophisticated real-time inventory system that synchronized with their warehouse management software, preventing customers from ordering out-of-stock items. The checkout process was streamlined to just three taps, with support for multiple payment methods including credit cards, EFT, SnapScan, and cash on delivery. A key innovation was the live delivery tracking feature, which used GPS to show customers exactly where their delivery driver was, with accurate ETA calculations. The Results

The results exceeded all expectations. Within the first three months of launch, FreshMart saw a 340% increase in mobile orders, with the app accounting for 68% of all online sales.
